The Zoo Museum District
By establishing the Missouri History Museum Subdistrict, the residents of St. Louis City and St. Louis County made the Missouri History Museum a member of the Metropolitan Zoological Park and Museum District (ZMD), a property tax-supported district governed by an eight member Board of Directors. The ZMD distributes the funds through five cultural subdistricts, including the Missouri History Museum, the Missouri Botanical Garden, Saint Louis Science Center, Saint Louis Zoo and the Saint Louis Art Museum.
