In the Spirit of Our Age: Eric Mendelsohn's B'nai Amoona Synagogue
By Kathleen James-Chakraborty
In the Spirit of Our Age celebrates the B'nai Amoona Synagogue,
a local landmark and the first U.S. commission of renowned architect Eric
Mendelsohn. Kathleen James-Chakraborty places the building, which currently
houses the Center of Contemporary Arts, in its significant and proper
context in modern religious architecture, while illustrations from the
Mendelsohn archives in Berlin include original sketches and contemporary
photographs of the building.
