There is no outdoor Sport that I can derive
more pure pleasure from than automobiling. When I enter my car
a thrill of anticipation of its delights fills my soul with joy.

In the late nineteenth century a “horseless carriage”
was seen on the streets of St. Louis. From that moment on, an
entrepreneurial spirit took over the city of St. Louis. Countless
automobile companies were formed by people hoping to cash in on
a growing industry. Some companies lasted a short time and produced
only a few cars, while others lasted for years and produced thousands
of cars. St. Louis became a leader in automotive manufacturing,
and in the creation of new products, patents, and technology.
Unfortunately within thirty years most of the successful companies
in St. Louis were gone and Detroit became the center of the automotive
world.
