| Man's off-white deerskin frock coat with red and blue porcupine
quill abstract floral embroidery on front, back, lapels, and sleeves,
ca. 1825-1840. This coat is of European cut, but Native American in
decoration. It belonged to one of the members of the Chouteau family.

Museum Collections
The Missouri Historical Society's Museum Collections consist of over 125,000
artifacts in a variety of formats that document the everyday life of the
